In 1961 two experienced shirt makers, John La Resca and George Zimmerman, decided to launch a small custom shirt manufacturing business in Paterson, New Jersey.

John and George had a vision that great American specialty retailers needed a shirt maker to help them build an in store custom business which those retailers could not initiate on their own. From that vision they created Individualized Shirts.

Now, fifty years later, most of those years spent in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Individualized Shirts celebrates its golden anniversary as America’s largest and most successful custom shirt maker.

Our partners at Individualized know first and foremost that without loyal and consistent support of our many truly valued customers over the last fifty years we would not have been able to prosper.

Here's an interesting historic fact about Perth Amboy. It was founded in 1651, and is still the only city in the United States to be incorporated twice. It received its first charter in 1718 and a second time in 1784 after the American Revolution.

Today, Perth Amboy is truly a melting pot of scores of immigrant cultures lending talent, skill and vision to our manufacturing.
